representing commodity trading and shipping in Switzerland


The Swiss Trading & Shipping Association (STSA) is a non-profit, non-political Swiss association representing companies active in commodity trading and shipping activities, trade finance and related services. Since its creation in 2014 it acts as the umbrella organisation for the sector in Switzerland, bringing together the 3 regional associations, 190 members and institutions, and over 100 professionals participating in STSA Committees and expert Working Groups.

Geneva Trading and Shipping Association (GTSA)

Founded in 2006, GTSA is the oldest and largest commodity trading association in Switzerland, with close to 100 members. GTSA represents the interests of the many commodity trading firms active along the shores of Lake Geneva and builds on a long tradition of commodity trading in the region. The association merged with STSA in 2014 and both associations share the Geneva Secretariat. Visit GTSA's Page

Zug Commodity Association (ZCA)

Established in 2012, ZCA has over 40 members, principally active in metals and energy trading. ZCA keeps a strong focus on providing specialist professional training and education, alongside its support for STSA’s efforts to explain the commodity industry to the authorities and the general public. Lugano Commodity Trading Association (LCTA)

Established in 2010, LCTA has over 50 members, principally active in metals, coal and energy trading. Lugano is a thriving trading hub and has developed rapidly since the 2000s thanks to the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce of Ticino. LCTA has built strong ties with Eastern Europe and Central Asian market participants. Visit LCTA's website
